Plastic Paddies Sometimes Do It Best
author: Pirate Pedro
Though not actually from Ireland, Saint Bushmill's is still some of the best Celtic Punk on the market.
Heavily influenced by the Pogues, Saint Bushmill's does several traditional songs in Pogues style, as well as integrating some original Pogues music into their traditional songs.
A great listen, advised for any fan of Irish music.

The more I play it, the more I like it!

Kick-ass, hard-hitting Celtic punk rock in the style of Flogging Molly and the Dropkick Murphys with a bit of a polka, ska and bluegrass feel. Notable tracks include "The Secret Set", "Foggy Dew", Molly McGuire's" and "The Greenland Whale Fisheries", that's if you don't get a seizure from the fiesty, machine-gun pluckings of banjo player Dan Baugher, who adds fairly awesome banjo work to a great majority of the album. Bassist Pete Remine makes up one part of a super-tight, rock-ready rhythm section. Listen also for Rob Whitmer's beer-soaked, Oktoberfest-style accordion on "Black and Tans".
