Nightmare is the new release from California Goth/Rockers Saints Of Ruin. This is their first full-length album. It features their widely applauded cover of the Concrete Blonde vampire anthem "Bloodletting'. This track alone makes this CD a must have. But that's not all. The opening song "Ashes" is a powerful Goth-Pop single, with beautiful melodies and sensual harmonies. This song will stay in your head for a long time. The new eleven track “Nightmare” CD contains songs of life, like "Dark Night" and of death, such as "The Darkening”. An anti-hunting/ pro animal rights song: "A Murder Of Crows" . And even a story of a serial killer : "Dying Time", which is told through the eyes of the killer himself , There’s a pumping dance club song, “Be My King”, which is an uplifting story about finding true love. A Very powerful anti-war song "End Of Days" . Written during the time of George Bushs presidency. This song will give you chills up your spine . The title track "Nightmare", a very creepy lullaby, gives us all yet another reason not to fall asleep. And perhaps one of the most powerful songs and themes on this album is "Never Go Away". This is a song about teen suicide as told by both the person committing suicide and the friend asking them not to. This topic is a sad but very true epidemic within our youth. And let’s not forget the fun pub sing-along Gothic Masterpiece: "Halloween Song" - a true story of being a Goth kid in New York City and all the fun and adventure that goes with it.
Nightmare really defines the diverse sound that Saints Of Ruin has developed since they formed in 2007. Powerful female vocals, mysterious melodies, Monster Metal guitars and electronic undercurrents has made this band the #1 ranked unsigned Goth/Metal band on MySpace Top Artists from August 2009 to December 2009.
Now with their signing to Echozone Records, the possibilities are endless and abounding.
Formed by former Voltaire/Odds guitarist Tommy Dark and the sexy metal siren Ruby Ruin, Saints Of Ruin have combined sensual beauty with metallic attack. Pop sensibility with Industrial intrigue. And fairytales with nightmares.
And so, for the Metal head, the Goth, and the Rock N Roller….This is your new favorite band.
Cheers
