Salim, born and bred in Baltimore, has performed in prominent metropolitan venues as well as in café-like coves throughout the East Coast since 2004. He and his live band, The Music Lovers have opened for Slick Rick, Method Man, and Black Sheep within this past year. As the writer and producer for his 17-track debut album Hip Hop Revisited, Salim has been described as the “embodiment of hip hop’s evolution.” His desire to incorporate live instrumentation into his music led Salim to form his group, The Music Lovers, in December 2005. With continued performances throughout the Baltimore/D.C. area, Salim & The Music Lovers continue to attract a diverse listening audience eager to explore hip hop’s higher plane.

Salim's CD HIP HOP REVISITED is a masterpiece from start to finish. Just opening up the CD's lush packaging and reading the insightful, poetic intro from Salim is a masterpiece -- and that's before even listening to the CD!!!
I absolutely love this CD -- it's one of those gems that keeps getting better and better with every listen. Not only is Salim genuinely talented -- artistically and lyrically -- the music itself is fresh. I love what Salim has to say especially. Everything on HIP HOP REVISITED is done with integrity, with passion, with love, with a sense of humor, and with soul. I honestly recommend to EVERYONE. You don't have to be a hip hop fan to love it -- in fact, if you've never liked hip hop until now, make this the first CD you buy because it will change your mind. I can't wait to hear more from Salim.
Some of my favorite tracks are "The Anti Rapper" "Hip Hop Glory" "I Emcee" "Luv Ur Vybe" "Hood Rich" and "Divine Intervention" -- but there's 17 tracks on the album for a reason....I love them all.
