Sally O’Brien’s Bar and Grill is proud to celebrate the release of “Song For Sally” on June 13, 2009. “Song for Sally” grew out of the soulful, rootsy, slice of Americana which graces Sally O’Brien’s stage every night of the week. "Song For Sally" was conceived by Bob Metzger, (long time Leonard Cohen guitarist and collaborator) after he witnessed the burgeoning music scene at Sallys. 18 original tracks from 13 artists, recorded live at the club and in fine local studios, comprise “Song For Sally." Graceful song-writing and spirited performances benefit from the treasure-trove of talent residing in the Boston area. Roots music, bouncing from blues, to rock, to country, displays a casual cool crossing of genres and a mix of players working together in various configurations. “Song For Sally” captures a moment in time at Sally O'Brien’s and embodies the interaction between artist and audience that provides the club with its unique atmosphere. This CD aims to be a building block in the musical community which is blossoming at Sally O'Brien’s and a little piece of the bar that everyone can take home.
