Salome Sandoval
Venezuelan singer and classical guitar self-accompanist, Salome holds a B.M. in classical guitar with Luis Zea from “Instituto Universitario de Estudios Musicales,” and a M.A. with William Yelverton at Middle Tennessee State University. She has played in master classes with renowned international guitarists, as well as in radio shows, theater, movie soundtracks and television. Award winner in various competitions, Salome has played and sung early, Latin American, and contemporary music in several ensembles and choirs in Venezuela and the US including Collegium Vocale at Blair School of Music, Nashville, TN. Today she is part of the classical guitar faculty at MTSU. She has collaborated in many CD recordings and in her first CD Cantando con el Fuego (Singing with the Fire) Salome combines her voice and guitar with repertoire that includes English Renaissance pieces and Spanish music. Next year Salome will be attending to Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA where she was awarded with a Scholarship to study early music as a voice and lute major.
