ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Samantha Goodman is a singer-songwriter native to Connecticut. Growing up in West Hartford, CT, she starred in several musical theater projects at Conard High School and studied voice at the HARTT School of Music. Her next adventure took her to Boston University as an opera major, where she promptly fell in love with her new guitar and gave up opera for folk and country music. Years later, Samantha returned to Connecticut and began singing in vocal competitions, including becoming the 2007 New England Regional Female Vocalist of the Year for Talent Quest and competing nationally in Las Vegas, NV. Upon her return, she turned her attention to fronting local bands, including Blue Collar Project, Supervolt and The Ruins. Although she has sung in many genres throughout her career, currently her focus is on bluesy-rock with some country and rockabilly thrown in for good measure. This is influenced in large part by her former voice teacher and inspiration, Christine Ohlman. Her vocal icons include Eva Cassidy, Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, Imelda May and Ella Fitzgerald.
