Samantha Kane is a New Jersey born pop/folk/rock singer-songwriter who began singing at the age of two. As she began writing her original bluesy pop/folk at the age of fourteen, she formed her first band and embarked on a performing career, gracing the stages of various clubs, coffeehouses, and bars on the Jersey shore. Graduating a year early from Red Bank School of the Performing Arts, Samantha attended Manhattan School of Music for a time before setting out for the prestigious and internationally acclaimed Berklee College of Music, where Quincy Jones, Branford Marsalis, Paula Cole, Diana Krall, Melissa Etheridge, Natalie Maines (Dixie Chicks), and Aerosmith (among many more) attended years earlier.
While attending Berklee, Samantha cut her teeth on the Boston music scene by performing at local clubs, coffeehouses, and bars. Samantha and her original music were in high demand for various recording projects, and it was through those that she gained her extensive experience in the recording studio. Samantha studied songwriting under successful songwriters Pat Pattison and Barbara Jordan, and took songwriting clinics under hit songwriters Diane Warren, Gary Burr, Don Schlitz, Mike Reid, Janis Ian, and Beth Nielsen Chapman. She was the recipient of two Berklee College of Music songwriting contests before receiving an Honorable Mention, surpassing thousands of entries, in the International John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
After graduating Berklee College of Music in 1997, Samantha spent one year in Nashville performing and preparing for the release of her debut CD, Samantha Kane. She then returned to her home state of New Jersey and started reassembling her band for many performances at venues in New Jersey and New York City such as CBGB's, Kenny's Castaways, The Baggot Inn, The Sun Music Company, Tammany Hall, The Saint, The Headliner, and many more. Samantha has also performed in Mexico City, Los Angeles, and St. Thomas.
Samantha is currently performing and recording in New Jersey, New York City, and Philadelphia, and is giving private instruction in voice, piano, and songwriting in New Jersey. She has recently signed a two-song publishing deal with Heavy Hitters Music Publishing and will be releasing a live EP and her second CD of new material in the year 2003.

A pop/folk/rock singer-songwriter with strength, sass, and brazen attitude. Samantha severs the soul with razor blade lyrics and raspy vocals reminiscent of Jewel, Joan Osborne, and Patty Griffin. She's a pistol, and she's not afraid to fire!

LOVE this CD
author: Matt Pullano
These songs are well-crafted, excellent melodies and grooves. The instrumentation is excellent and the band is very tight. Samantha's has great control over her vocals, which are warm and expressive with an occasional rasp at just the right moments.
Vocally....think of a "bluesy Jewel", only.......refreshingly unique!!!

Excellent CD!

Samantha Kane's CD is just amazing. A lot of CDs have songs that pretty much sound the same as eachother, but Samantha's CD is nothing like that. Each song has it's own unique flavor, and is extremely well-written musically, rhythmically, and lyrically. And her voice really expresses all the emotion of each song. I especially like the songs "You", "Falling From Grace", and "Circus Child". Sam's music and voice are similar to Jewel, but still unique-sounding enough to make you sit up and take notice! I'm looking forward to her next CD and hopefully catching one of her shows (and meeting her in person!). Give it a listen....you'll love it!
