Sam Dougherty has been involved with music for most of his life. Sam began playing the acoustic guitar at 8 yrs. Old and then put it down for over ten years before playing again. At 14 he accepted Christ, but never truly made Him his Lord until he was 30 years of age. He sometimes refers to this gap as his testimony building days. Sam finally found his place in life in 1999 when he gave all control to Jesus and began writing music exclusively for the Lord.
This opened up the door to start Six String Ministry. Sam shares the good news of the Gospel and of the victory Jesus has had in his life through this ministry. Sam's debut CD "Six Strings and God" is a collection of original songs that share the testimony of his walk to Christ. Through this ministry he has been able to minister to youth, adults and the elderly through different events, church's and venues. Sam has performed for Operation Starting Line, which is a collaboration of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Campus Crusade, Prison Fellowship, Promise Keepers and many more nationally recognized ministries. Sam has also been blessed to perform at County Fairs, 4th Fridays with Rufus Harris, many coffee houses and church's across the State of Michigan.
Most recently Sam completed this new CD titled "So Real". This is his first full production professionally done cd. He Spent nearly four months in the studio with some great talents in order to get this done. Sam prouidly shares that this CD is going to be a great tool for God to use. God gave Sam every song on it and he is now giving it back to Him.
Sam leads worship at bible studies and outreaches and is very active in his own church as a member of the praise team and where ever else the Lord calls him to be. Sam is married with two children who are an important part of his ministry and second to only Jesus in his life.
