Superb from start to finish!

I'm obviously a little late in getting hold of this CD by this local Greensboro musician. While the guitar talents of this man are well known, it is an unexpected surprise to find his singing and songwriting at such a high level. What I mean to say is that I thought the music would be good, but not this good! My jaw literally dropped while listening to Half a Million Years. The lyrics are so interesting, they make you wonder who and what exactly inspired them. Every song is different yet still a cohesive collection and it grooves throughout with perfectly-interspersed ballads. The production is excellent and quite creative. Mr. Frazier's voice is rich and distinctive with just enough gravel. It's hard to pick a favorite as all the songs are very most wonderful. My personal favorites were Covered Dish (I never know what to bring to those things so I'm with mama!)and She Don't Pick Up the Phone(I despise the phone so shades of me once again!) And you've got to appreciate a guy who sings, "If only I could fall in love, I'd fall in love with you." It sure beats, "I love you just the way you are" and then being served divorce papers. One senses he means what he says and it's not just a contrived line in a song. But who knows? I fully expected the last track, Genius, to be redundant and unremarkable as he croons, "I dreamed I was a genius ... a genius in between." But by the time the song was over I was completely won over by the arrangement, the fine guitar work and the cleverly-crafted lyrics. Not to mention the irony here, since I've always suspected this gentleman's IQ is way off the charts. As is his talent!

I just recently discovered this CD, man have I been missing out. I am thrilled that this artist is in my own back yard. I will certainly follow his career more closely. I hate that I have been missing out till now. Been a big fan of Van Morrison for years and this is the first that has come close in my opinion. Incredible!

A masterful mix of music in all 12 songs. Beautiful acoustic ballads, rock, and soul blues, with lyrics equivalent to Bob Dylan. Something for every type of listener. This is how all CD's should be... all Substance and no fluff!
