Album Notes

All Caught Up is the debut solo CD project from Boston-based singer/songwriter Sam Hooper.

Known in New England blues circles as former lead guitarist of the Vykki Vox and Angela McClenton bands, Hooper's playing has been praised as "fiery" and "transcending into something nearly spiritual."

An alumnus of both the Berklee and the University of Miami Schools of Music, he was a winner of 5 Berklee songwriting competitions.

He has also toured the United States, Japan, Switzerland and China.

On this 5 song EP, Hooper's vocals, (which have been compared to Robert Cray or Bobby Bland) and strong songwriting step up to share the spotlight with some burnin' guitar playing.

From the pop-tinged title track to the funky "I Won't Be Your Fool," Hooper displays a confident versatility that is contemporary, yet rooted in rhythm & blues.

Hooper co-produced the EP in Nashville with engineer and longtime friend Jim Lightman.

Before opening New Reflections studios in Nashville two years ago, Lightman was known in Boston for his engineering with artists like Peter Wolf and Nuno Bettencourt.

Take a listen and you'll be All Caught Up in this exciting debut from Sam Hooper!

True Soul with the Tone to Match

I got all caught up in the grooves and the genuine soul when I listened to Sam Hooper's EP, ALL CAUGHT UP. It feels funky, and has the emotional honesty to stand up to repeated listenings. The truth is in the Tone, and Sam has it, in his guitar and his voice.
