samjjana offers profoundly soothing sacred music, immersing the listener in soul nourishing sound vibrations, restoring stillness and peace.
Maia plays the hang - an enchanting, ethereal, exquisitely gentle ‘sound sculpture’ that has been described as 'raindrops from heaven' and 'for this world, but not of this world.' This uncommon, intuitive, improvisation instrument is captivating and speaks to the heart...
Sahayak plays Native American Indian single and drone flutes. Their captivating sounds return the listener to the pure essence and stillness of the inner Self. Encapsulating the oneness the Native American Indians have with Spirit, their evocative, haunting sounds rise from the depths of Mother Earth to touch the soul deeply...
One of many comments about their music...
“samjjana’s music is divine ~ a heavenly elixir that transports you into a heightened and connected state of peace, openness and reflection."
'Elixir' offers our ever-popular signature pieces of hang and D drone Native American Indian flute together, featured as first and last tracks ('Alchemy' and 'Advaita'). The alternating hang and flute pieces in between range from meditative and gentle (hang pieces like 'Grace' and 'Sattva' and flute pieces like ‘The Peace of Dawn’ and ‘Canyon Echo’) through to more dynamic tracks (evocative and powerful flute pieces like 'Vision Quest' and 'The Calling').
Some tracks have sound effects (wind, rain, thunder, bird calls, wind chimes, caja drum) to enhance the mood, but for the most part we have kept the focus on simplicity, allowing space and stillness for these divine instruments to stand alone in all their beauty. Audiences are drawn to, deeply appreciative of, and uplifted by our inspirational music in the simple, soulful way we perform it and for the inner awakening it evokes. We have honoured that in our recording and presentation of this album.
