Very Best of The Samples compiles 17 audio tracks on CD featuring original studio versions of the Boulder, Colorado band's classic songs, Including "When It's Raining" and "Birth Of Words".
In addition, a DVD featuring rare video footage, videos, mp3s, and
"10 Wheels", a documentary of The Samples' early years through 1994, is included. This two disc set will be released on November 16, 2004.
Underrated, but not by their fans, The Samples became a beachhead of sorts for the underground college rock circuit, garnering rabid fans and selling out large concert halls nationally. Without the benefit of MTV, The Samples have managed to sell over 1,000,000 (that's one million!) Copies of their catalogue based on a genuine grass roots campaign. Bands like Dave Matthews' Band and Big Head Todd & The Monsters later found great success on a road paved by this dynamic quartet.
This celebratory "best of" also bring The Samples' story up to date by catching up with the "classic" line-up of Jeep MacNichol, Al Laughlin, Andy Sheldon, and Sean Kelly. Find out what the members of the band are up to in 2004 and hear new material from their current musical endeavors.

A Sunny Reminder
author: CHINASKI
As a Samples fan from the very beginning, it's great to have this sunny reminder of some of the best music to come out of the 90s. Throughout the collection, the songs snap together without a single rough transition. This album contains every essential Samples song in a nicely remastered package, with enough extras to entice more than a few fans who already own the original releases.
