Album Notes

Bassist Sam Trapchak heads up this dynamic, forward thinking jazz ensemble featuring Tom Chang on guitar, Greg Ward on alto saxophone, and Arthur Vint on drums. Although jazz is their common ground, the band's unique sound is the result of a proficiency in a wide range of styles such as heavy metal, afro-beat, and country. The debut album, Lollipopocalypse, features innovative and highly varied compositions by Trapchak and guitarist Tom Chang.

Sam Trapchak was born in Livonia, Michigan in 1984. His father played bass and Sam was nurtured by the rich musical tradition of Detroit. He studied jazz at Wayne State University in Detroit and then later at William Paterson University in New Jersey. He is currently a full time, professional musician in NYC.
