Think of an acoustic-roots based musical cauldron of rock, folk, country, jazz, latin, blues, reggae and funk moods, delivered passionately with a rich, powerful and expressive voice, intricate yet complimentary guitar and spiced with vibrant harmonica. Think of songs melodic and catchy, with thought provoking lyrics of social, political and human comment...............you are thinking of Samuel Bester.
Add to this the newly formed band of bass, drums, percussion, fiddle, viola, mandolin, and vocal harmonies.....well you should be getting the idea by now!

With twenty years performance experience, it is little wonder that people are impressed by the stage presence and charisma of this talented singer-songwriter, performer.

Samuel is from the southern most state of Australia. The island state of Tasmania well known for it's wilderness and beauty.
Perhaps it is this environment that has inspired and helped keep Samuel's style "earthy" and true, preferring to utilise live musicians and organic instruments, to keep the musical connection that lives, breathes and influences our very souls, touches our hearts and inspires our minds.

"The long & the short of it" was recorded in Samuel's own studio, a beach side escape lending itself to the vibe for this eclectic collection of grooves. The mixing and mastering was then done in Anthony Lim's well appointed studio in Tasmania's north.

Samuel has dedicated his life to music. His time is split between live performance, song writing, running his own studio and his fledgling independent record label "Sambo Music". Samuel also runs an acoustic originals night at Irish Murphy's a venue in his home town of Hobart.
Samuel is driven by music.
