New England's Samuel Bowen has been performing, writing and playing guitar for over 25 years. Over the years he's worked with Johnny J Blair, Michael Sweet, Andy Pratt, Evie Haskell, Mitch Micviker,Shawn Colvin, Steve Camp, David Mallet, Don Francisco, Sherman Andrus,Tom Conlon, and many more.
Samuel has performed in clubs, coffeehouses, festivals, Church events, benefit concerts, radio stations and living rooms. Samuel is known for his unique finger style guitar and crisp clear emotion packed vocals. His CD “Under the Surface” resulted in his first tour to Ireland in 2003. “Cutting Edge Magazine”
says "This is music that you can sit by the fire with or start fires with". Singer songwriter and producer JJ Blair,"Sam has a full bodied musical and spiritual vision in what he does". Long time Nashville producer Mike Johnson says "Sam is a very talented singer/songwriter" Samuel's music has received excellent reviews in publications such as "Limelight Magazine" and "Mass Hysteria magazine. His CD "Speak to Me" was nominated for best album of the year in 2008 and Sam for best male vocalist of the year in Limelight Magazine. His music has been aired on the radio from Mass to North Carolina, Maine to Trinidad.
His newest release "Verbis Defectis Musica Incipit", is a collection of rock, blues and acoustic songs performed with a full band. Musicians include
Johnny J Blair, bass player for the Monkees and lauded singer songwriter hailing from PA. Sam includes a cover song of Bruce Cockburn's "Lovers
in a Dangerous time" along with his eight original songs. With help from veteran producer Bob Evarts they weave a smooth tapestry of songs that retains
an edgy rock feel signature to Samuel's music.
