Sandii Castleberry has always wanted to record a Christmas CD. A multi-styled vocalist and guitarist, Sandii's vast repertiore includes lots of holiday songs. She works solid through the month of December performing at malls, airports, and corporate holiday parties.
Sandii loves playing acoustic music, and working with violinists. One of her favorites is Paul McIntire, known for his swingy and agressive style. Paul also plays many styles of music from country to jazz standards. Together, Paul and Sandii are the "Tuck and Patti" of acoustic folk.
"Castleberry Christmas" is a collection of some of Christmas music's most beloved songs. "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" swings, while Sandii's fresh and updated rendition of traditional English Carol "The Holly and the Ivy" reminds listeners of an arrangement similar to the stylings of the Indigo Girls.
Sandii is originally from Claremont, CA, a small college town 45 minutes east of Los Angeles. The colleges always had lots of cultural events to attend, and the small college town cafes offered numerous opportunities for Sandii to craft her talents as a songwriter, singer, guitarist and performing artist.
Now a resident of Idyllwild, CA, Sandii performs in Southern California at festivals and special events throughout the year. She also is a roster performer for the Orange County Performing Arts Center, and tours schools with her folk music programs. She has released a CD of family folk songs entitled "Folk Chronicles" which can be purchased on CD Baby. She often performs with her husband Ron, who plays banjo.
Sandii also has a website, and fronts several musical ensembles. To learn more about Sandii Castleberry, visit her website at: www.sandiicastleberry.com.
