Album Notes

Producer: Robert Huber

All people who love good songs owe a debt to the musical, lyrical creativity if Irving Berlin. Tony Sandler and Ralph Young herein express their thanks via a few of their favorite Berlin tunes.

During the recording session, Ralph, Tony, and their arranger-conductor, after every song wondered what Mr. Berlin’s reaction would be to their renditions. They wanted more than anything for this album to please him.

A special advance pressing was requested by him. After hearing, Mr. Berlin, who rarely makes personal calls to anyone, thrilled Ralph and Tony with a direct phone call. Hi s comment—“I sure do love what you boys did with my songs.”

Tony and Ralph now offer their thanks for all to hear.
This album includes a “first” for Sandler & Young. Ralph sings a solo, “How Deep is the Ocean,” and Tony sings “Always” (Heimmeh) in German.

After listening to this album, what else can one say but “Thank you Irving Berlin.”
