sand sheff was born in arizona, raised in oklahoma, has lived throughout the west and spent 5 years in nashville, tennessee...there Music Row magazine called his music "the very definition of Americana"

he left nashville in 2000....his last cd "free on this mountain", spent over 20 weeks on the roots music report bluegrass charts in 2004...and as of March 2007 is back on the charts...his latest effort is a three part release of original songs recorded in the Southwest this last year..."Dust", "Cowboyin'" and the alternative roots gospel CD "Lion on a White Horse" feature Reeltime Traveler Thomas Sneed and founding member of Leftover Salmon Glenn Keefe. They are available this spring on CDBaby ..

Just to let folks know... as of April 30th and May 15th respectively, Sand's CD has made it onto the FAR Charts (#21) within the first two weeks out and now the Bluegrass Charts (#18) on RootsMusicReview.com...not bad for an unknown. Go check it out!
