Described as one of best blues debuts in recent years My Day Is Just Beginning has recieved critical acclaim and performed as a best seller in the UK's Blues and Roots charts since it's launch.
The Times said in it's review of the Best International Blues releases of 1999 "My Day Is Just Beginning" is the bravest and most stylistaclly inventive album of the year".
While the material shows that Sankey loves the Blues he's not tied to tradition and seeks to melt other influences into his sound.
As a result this album has a very diverse sound including Jazz, Roots, Funk and Dance references.
Lee Sankey is best known for his harmonica playing but his debut sees him playing guitar as well as writing and producing all the material.
The eight piece band includes a 3 piece horn section that has played with Buddy Guy, The Rolling Stones, Blur to name a few and was recorded live in the studio by one of the worlds greatest engineers, Phill Brown.
The resulting sound quality has been described as outstanding.
Phill has engineered many of the worlds greatest musicians including The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, Talk Talk and more recently Faithless.
If you love high energy music with a lot soul, feel and passion this album is a must.

A jaw-dropping, rock-you-back-on-your-heels piece of work.
author: Paul Sharples
Like Skip McDonald (Little Axe) I feel that Lee Sankey is not afraid to show that the Blues is a living and developing genre that is forever on the move. This album is clearly the work of a talented writer working with quality musicians in a first rate studio environment. These guys have come up with an excellent production sound but have somehow managed to keep that "live" feel. Let's hope this album gets the recognition that it very much deserves. That, dear reader, is very much up to you.
