Review Extracts:
"The most thrilling blues-album of the year comes from London. Thrilling because the British harp- and guitar player Lee Sankey does not care about traditional genre structures and stylistics. Lee Sankey's music gives life to the blues of the 21st century - a blues feeling in every second."
CD of the month October Music 9/10. Repertoire 9-10/10, audio quality 9/10
Stereoplay 10/2003
"Modern Street Symphonic Sound" that's what Lee Sankey calls his filigree City-Blues arrangements. Harp player Lee frees Blues from the railroad-sweeper-dust. This British R&B is clever and elegant, hip and groovy, exciting and idyllic."
Jazzthing Sep./Oct. 2003
"It is astonishing what Lee Sankey has recorded with his 16 musicians. Jazzy brass, soft swinging drums, a harp plus the raw voice, which tells Sankeys stories. Nothing less than simple Blues melodies, but innovative, atmospheric music and one of the most interesting releases of the year."
Jazzthetik October 2003

We came across this album by accident, but it has become a favourite! What a great musicians. Very dynamic, often surprising and (most important) full of emotion. If you like a bit more 'complex' but very musical arrangements, this your album. Personal favourite is number 8 (Frank's Brother... Lee Sankey is a great story teller :-))
