Sapphirecut's bio
Sapphirecut's name comes from the sapphire needle that is used to create a dubplate that originally carried the sounds globally from her studio in Philadelphia. A musician and dancer by birth her music carries feeling and movement. She was born in Pittsburgh to a family of five siblings who loved and exchanged music. She has been involved in various types of music performance and creation since the age of 3. A large portion of her being is related to empathy and healing and her music is an extension of this.
Sapphirecut created and released her first record in 2001 which was a collaborative song "Free Your Mind" produced in her home studio which charted in the top 10 of Billboard magazine for Free Your Mind for 6 consecutive weeks. Sapphirecut classifies herself as an artist as she writes and sings her music and mixes them with her equipment.
She has done remixes for Illustrious, Sexonwax, Yoko Ono and has been played around the globe by Danny Tenaglia, Ferry Corsten, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, etc. She has been released on Twisted America, Capital, Kinetic record, React, Tsunami, Systems records, and Sexonwax. She is now releasing under her own publications in order to broaden the audiences exposure to her musical creativity.
Learning to DJ allowed her to expand her palette of music and share in the global electronic dance sounds that she loves.
She has pioneered opening airwaves to global club and electronic music with her 2 hour weekly FM/AM/Internet radio program called Soundfront Underground where music plays openly from around the globe and DJ/Producers and Electronic Musicians have interview spots. She plays this program on a number of ever expanding internet and FM radio sites which can be found in the chart section of her site www.sapphirecut.com.
She founded videohouselive(www.videohouselive.com) which plays at the World Café Live (www.worldcafelive.com). This is an original film/fine digital art forum played to electronic dance music in a surrealistic dining and dance environment allowing the exchange between artists and audience in a one on one environment. The DVD created travels with the sounds around the globe.
Sapphirecut has music that is available outside this CD that can be found for purchase on line and in stores but the Archives of Sound contains a variety of artist tracks that allow the listener to hear a dynamic range of styles that are produced. With cinematic ,break beat, ambient, progressive ,trance, house vocal tracks to choose from; Sapphirecut chose 16 unreleased tracks in this album to share in her journey of writing. The release of this album marks the beginning of a new journey of music for Sapphirecut as she has learned to utilize the instruments and equipment that gives the artist the ability to paint the mood with sound.
