Portland, Maine based singer/songwriter Sara Cox has just released her first full length album, "Arrive". Featuring fellow Coming Grass band members Nate Schrock, Steve Jones, and Ginger Cote, the diverse yet cohesive disc is at times as rocked out as it is intimate at others.
Cox has been singing "her whole damn life". Now, after 5 years of playing and singing in the Portland roots rock staple, The Coming Grass, her sound has evolved and her lyrics have developed into captivating ideas and stories.
She has played to enthusiastic audiences in opening slots for Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Stacey Earle, and Suzanne Vega among others and international awareness continues to increase.
Cox has been featured on the last 4 volumes of the "Greetings from Area Code 207" compilation put out by Portland AAA station WCLZ and has had consistent airplay of her singles that have been released.

These songs are accessable to listeners at full band performances as well as at intimate shows with just her and a guitar. Cox's songwriting pulls you in with an honesty that is rare in today's music and her lyrics are compelling without being tricky or clever.
John Conquest from 3rd Coast Music says that Cox's songs are simply "Exceptional". Don't take it from him, tear it open and have a listen.

Solid album great sound
author: Mike NobletThe cd is fantastic. I heard Sara on the area code 207 albums and have been thinking about getting her albums ever since. The song writing is solid and the music is haunting. Great album, highly recomended
