“Love Songs & Lullabies” began as an act of desperation and love on the part of new mom, Sarah Jebian. After her daughter was born, Sarah realized that she didn't know any 'classic' lullabies. Desperately wanting to sing her little baby to sleep, she sang the first song she could think of that might work as a lullaby - Guns N' Roses "Sweet Child O' Mine". It worked! The baby fell asleep and Sarah began a three-year odyssey into the world of creating an album.
“Love Songs & Lullabies” is a musical expression of Sarah's experience of parenthood. It's as if you're reading the journal of a new parent – the love, the fear, the elation, the exhaustion, the overwhelming emotion you feel for the tiny person that is part of you. From the joyful abandon of Roy Orbison's "You Got It", to the serenity of Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely", the songs will transport you to a time of peace and nostalgia. Listeners both young and old will be moved by Jebian's rich, emotionally charged performance and the wonderful new arrangements of so many old favorites.
