Sarah Peters has been making music her entire life. She grew up on goat farms in Wisconsin and Colorado, and music was always central to her family gatherings. She spent several years in Chicago working as a theatre actor. While there, she began teaching early childhood music around town, including at the Old Town School of Folk Music, where she learned to play guitar and first discovered capoeira, a Afro-Brazilian martial art that is played to its own music. In July 2004, she studied classical acting techniques with the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, UK. She is a founding member of Song Weavers, an a capella song/chant group that has performed in Sebastapol, CA, New York City, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Sarah brings guitar, bodhran (an Irish frame drum), flute, berimbau (an Afro-Brazilian instrument) and a passion for a global community into her music. Singing in different languages and hearing different instruments from around the world at a young age places the first stones on the path for a life long journey into a global thinking. Sarah now lives in Los Angeles, and still teaches early childhood music, including a program she developed called World Citizen Baby, bringing sounds and rhythms from around the world to babies and their caregivers, and performs around town.
\"Rest, My Love\" is Sarah Peters’ debut cd. Sarah has brought together lullabies and folk songs from around the world and mixed them up with her original work to create an enticing, soothing and rich auditory experience. \"Rest, My Love\"’s peaceful acoustic sound is the perfect way to wind down at the end of a long day and soothe you into a blissful slumber. The lullabies are sung in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Latin and Zulu and are accompanied by guitar, flute and berimbau.
