In an era littered with shoegazing introverts, tragically detached hipsters, and overly stylized pop tarts, Sarah Sample stands out like a big, beautiful sore thumb. She lets the audience in by witnessing to what is known and felt by most of us. And wrapping it up in a way we may never have heard- or felt- it before. Sarah Sample dishes up a plate of acoustic Folk Rock that is salty and sweet. In Spring 2007 Sarah released her sophomore album, "Never Close Enough," which has been paving roads to perform at the 2007 and 2008 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, as a Troubadour in the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and on the stages of the Sisters Folk Festival, Tucson Folk Festival, and Founders Folk and Bluegrass Festival.
Sarah Sample returned to June Audio to work with producer Scott Wiley again to create her new EP. What was born within the walls of June Audio over two days of recording live with nine incredible players was appropriately named "The Born to Fly EP." All the songs were tracked live with up to ten musicians playing together and outcome would make most musicians mad with envy. Vance Gillbert writes of Sarah Sample, "I knew was listening to a singer filled with confident clarity. I knew I was listening to a singer that can make big things happen with a whisper, and do it all to material that was provocative, clearly crafted, and smart."Sarah's music is definitely something to be sampled.
