Album Notes

Sarah Vann has the ability to give voice to thoughts that touch hearts and minds. Having sat at a keyboard from the age of 8, her fingers danced their way through the classics. Through study, personal joys and sorrows, she finally landed on her sound.

Sarah, feeling the need to see some the world, left high school for England, taking as many opportunities to travel across Europe as possible. After laboring many ‘live to work’ jobs, her mind and notebook were filled with stories of people and places, and she decided to follow her heart and fly to Australia. Greeted with nothing but an unforgiving Australian desert and a broken heart, Sarah, like so many songwriters before her, was handed a direction in her songwriting.

Since returning to Canada in 2003, Sarah has completed a Music degree at Acadia University in Nova Scotia. She has played with many different bands from Halifax and been a part of the resurgence in homegrown talent at Acadia University.

Her songs have a decadently soothing sound, the kind of music you would listen to surrounded by close friends or just to wake up to on a sun-drenched Sunday morning
