Album Notes

Sara K. was invited by the German radio station MDR to play a solo radio concert in Leipzig. On November 2007 she performed an exceptional, sold out performance on her unique 4-string guitar. Recorded by Stockfisch Records and Gunter Pauler, these 14 tracks are an intimate example of Sara's great talent as a singer/songwriter. It is her only solo recording to date. (Audiophile)

Don't I Know You

I had the pleasure of hearing those early songs in a coffehouse in Albq when I was 17. I was beside myself at their beauty and craftmanship. After There's A Blizzard, Aura of the Blade, and Burnin' Both Ends are so lived through, gentle yet iron-tough. Honored to be fellow New Mexican. This one is lovely and bare.

Me and my wife Angenitha attended a show of Sara K. in Germany, 2007, which I was permitted to film.( Just for personal use, so dont't ask me for it.) It was a an intense, superb experience. Sara K. is one of the finest female singer-songwriters I know. I can recommend this beautiful collection of live songs to everybody. On my website (under the heading Short Films) you can watch a small part of a (new)live song show I have filmed. www.hermantulp.nl.

Excellent, intimate one

I think in many ways this is my favorite live Sara K album. I do miss a bit the great interaction between Sara & fine accompanists like Bruce Dunlap or the late Chris Jones. But the focus here is most on her voice-- & that's fantastic enough. I think she's singing as well or even better than ever. I like too the nice little moments of audience banter, and the fact she includes many early songs. I guess I'd start with some of her studio ones like 'Closer Than They Appear' or 'Hell or High Water.' But this really delivers for Sara K unplugged and performing from the heart.
