Soothing and thought provoking

This is a CD that I can listen to no matter what type of day I have had. It can calm me, lift me and make me think about life all at the same time. This is quite a feat! Sara's voice is clear and strong yet soothing and gentle. The music is lyrical and unique yet soft and familiar. I've really enjoyed this CD and can't wait for Sara's next one. Keep up the great work Sara!

Sara's voice is smooth and well controlled.

Sara has put together a CD that I listen to the most. I commute 106 miles a day and I find that her CD is in my player the most. After playing it for my family each member has also purchased a copy for their CD collection and listening pleasure.
This easy listening music is memorable, well written, and acoustically arranged with guitars, fiddles, and a steel guitar. The finger picking styles are multifaceted, interesting and hooks the listener's ear. Sara's voice is smooth and well controlled. Her lyrics speak of life experiences, which most listeners will relate to well.
My favorite song on this CD is "Starlight Star Bright". It's melody and lyrics are smooth, with a hook that takes me back to my childhood star gazing days when I first fell in love. The fiddle melody in the background is haunting and soothes the heart.
Thank you Sara for your time and efforts to bring us this wonderful piece of work.

Sara and Doug have made an album that the whole family can enjoy!

It is not often that I can play music that I like and that my boys also enjoy. Self-titled is just such an exception. I have caught my 8 year old singing refrains from the album while swimming in our pool, and my 13 year old doesn't complain when I play it in the car (quite an achievement!). With lyrics that are poetry and melodies which touch the soul, one could not ask for a better album.
