Album Notes

From tender to powerful, sensual to gutsy, Theresa expresses her feelings of love, life and relationships through rock, ballads and r&b styles.

Following a period of indie/dance music success, she is back to her roots performing pop/rock music in New York venues including the Bitter End and the Hammerstien Ballroom.

Theresa has written and performed music for renowned artist Mark Kostabi, author Betty Eadie and Dr. M. Scott Peck. She has appeared in New York Magazine, on NBC's Law and Order, and just returned from a successful tour of our miitary bases in Germany and Italy.

Theresa is also involved with Swirling Record's CD, Soap Sessions, Vol. I, featuring songs by five popular daytime soap actors. She is included as a songwriter, producer of a vocal track with Kelly Ripa, background vocalist, and shares a duet with All My Children's Vincent Irizzary.

Most recently, Theresa recorded and peformed live with the legendary Blood, Sweat and Tears, and sang the National Anthem at the NY Mets Citifield in New York. She has also returned from a successful string of appearances in Nashville.

Her debut CD, Theresa Sareo, highlights her technical and emotional range and includes the Billboard contest-winning song "Time Flies".

Her second release; CDRom Embrace, includes a music video and won the Kweevak Tracks 2002 Viewer's Choice Best CD Award. It's also been featured on Top 40 radio shows in Spain and Germany.

Theresa released her personal journey of survival CD, "Alive Again" in 2007. She also appeared on Larry King Live talking about her inspiring story and music career.

Her latest CD "Through A Soldier's Eyes" reflects the courageous sacrifice of our wounded military. Theresa can be heard and seen around the world performing and advocating for the troops of the United States Military in honor of their service and sacrifice.

Beautiful Boy
author: Robert (Stonewall) Hughey

Beautiful Boy is a heartfelt tune that will take your breath and heart away. Same with Dunedin, Sada's Song and Breaking Up With Mary.... Theresa has the beautiful voice and intonations coupled with the timing that pulls you along and leaves you dreaming for another verse and repeat of the chorus as the voice fades to silence.

Like an ocean wave
author: The Foghorn-Ghost

These songs are definitely addictive. I think I finally figured out why, after reading Ms Sareo's web diaries. She's SINCERE — innocent, even! — free of irony — sorta like Connie Francis, Patsy Cline, and Arlene Smith. Her voice just sweeps over you (or through you) like a nice big ocean wave, fragrant and fresh, crashing and laughing, but with an undertow that could drown you in its salt tears. This CD is a big advance on her first, in which vocal mannerisms sound a little forced and annoying. But it 'll be a decade and several more albums before we know if Theresa Sareo fulfills the promise of this second CD. If she does, she'll be the Maria Callas of Pop. You can hear it in "Breaking Up with Mary" and "Dunedin" (marred by an awkward rhyme or two but still good). She gives every vowel and consonant the exact vocal timbre that brings the right emotion to every phrase. And she has Callas' combination of innocent soul, sincere heart, huge ego, and a great unique voice. But Callas was also the most intelligent vocal artist of all time, and the question for Sareo is whether her recent accident-induced soul-searching leaves her with a deeper, sharper, more passionate musical mind, or just a taste for blandly helpful spiritual affirmations. Time will tell — and it will take time for her new songs, her stage presence/self-image, and the potential of that voice to emerge and evolve. Okay, so maybe she isn't really gonna be the pop Callas — she doesn't take her tragic heroine role seriously enough to be quite that great in her art or that doomed in her life. But she will be Theresa Sareo, sooner or later. "Embrace" offers hints of a major career to come — but even if not, how many whole-hearted and unpretentious songs have been recorded by anyone (with a great voice) since 1963? For the price of a CD, you can have your faith restored in humanity!

It is very good, wide ranging

I like the first five or six songs a lot. They are all slightly different and that keeps me interested in listening. I have not taken it out of cd player since it arrived.
