Album Notes

Born in New York, Susan Artemis spent most of her childhood in eastern Massachusetts, where she started taking piano lessons at the age of eight. She studied classical piano through high school and into college at the University of Vermont. While living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the eighties, she commenced her study of jazz piano, first with Tony King, and subsequently with David Hazeltine; and her study of voice with jazz vocalist Jesse Hauck. She has performed professionally in Wisconsin, Ohio, Virginia, California, Nevada and Arizona. She moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1997 and plays regularly in local clubs and restaurants.
