These NW surf/psych/garage legends left us hanging almost a decade ago, and though a greatest hits comp surfaced about five years back, it felt like more of a tease than anything, as they were still nowhere to be seen. Maybe they just wanted to remind us of what we were missing, and if that was indeed their ploy, it worked. Folks, I am happy to report they have emerged, haven't lost a step, and are ready to, in a way no impostor could, fill the void they left. Stylishly (of course) slinking back onto the scene with this 13-track disc, they seem confident, invigorated, and sharper than ever. "Chestnut Trees and Bumblebees" dials in the guitars, but also allows plenty of room for organ solos that make the song both expansive and diverse. "Tomorrow Night's Mourning" is two-minutes of garage savagery, a cut that gets in, gets out, and channels momentum. The other songs are the same way: tight, masterfully arranged, and just a helluva lot of fun. It's great to see these cats back at it again.

Satan’s Pilgrims - Psychsploitation [SP Records]
author: Francisco Peres Ribeiro
One of the most influential bands of the "instrumental-surf-rock", The Satan's Pilgrims return after ten years of their last record of originals, the new record is entitled "Psychspoiltation" and contains 13 amazing songs, strong, full of fun and with great surprises, mixture of “guitar-instro” with "psychedelic-garage", this is the paraphernalia of styles that you can call "retro" or "classic 60's”, "history" or anything else, but everything starts with "Dilation" that merges perfectly with "In the Past", then till the end the album flows so, that we could not even skip any track, such is the nostalgia for all those, as I, like the feeling of 60's, because it is as if we listen to The Ventures together with The Chocolate Watch Band, "Psychspoiltation" is already a record binding on any summer party, let's PARTY ...!!!
This record was edited by SP Records, owned by Satan's Pilgrims.
