Album Notes

Saul Kaye has been performing music for over 15 years. He grew up playing piano from the age of 5 and took up guitar at age 12. He attended Berklee College of music in Boston in the early 90's.
After music school, he came back to California to assemble an original pop/rock/fusion group called Pneuma. Pneuma put out two C.D.s and toured around California.
Saul then began his journey into the realm of jazz which has taken him on two tours to China with the swing band, String of Pearls and through many bands including Manifest Yesterday (funk/r&B), the Blue n' Tan (electric jazz), the Kurt Ribak trio/quartet (original jazz), the JT HORNS (12 PIECE FUNK/MOTOWN/SOUL OUTFIT), A TOUCH OF BRASS (18 PIECE BiG BAND).
Currently, saul is playing with his original jazz trio, playing solo guitar, performing songs from the great american songbook, and playing his original music. Saul performs 20 times a month in the Bay Area and by the end of 2003 will have performed over 200 times this year.
Saul's experience in all the aforementioned styles is reflected in the strong melodies and tight arrangements found in his pop tunes. His voice has been compared to Sting and he fits right into the current song stylings of John Mayer and Dave Matthews.
Saul's songs include character studies reminiscent of Randy Newman, sensitive ballads a la James Talyor, political themes voiced like Paul Simon, and love songs all his own.
