The Savettes of Philadelphia continue to sing under the anointing that God placed on them over 50 years ago. Their rich and beautiful sound is like none other in the rich heritage of Philadelphia’s gospel music landscape. They are the epitome of excellence in singing praises unto the Lord. Through the years The Savettes have been known for their unparalleled renditions of the great hymns of the church.
Their beginning was as a small group of young friends who gathered together to fellowship in the member’s homes. In one of those meetings, God revealed himself like never before. The Spirit of the Lord fell upon them, and ordained that they would sing God’s praises with power, strength, and a strong commitment to the Word of God.
The ministry of the Savettes has extended to churches, prisons, hospitals, nursing homes, and wherever the people of God are in need. They have ministered with many gospel greats including Mahalia Jackson, The Hawkins Family, the late Rev. James Cleveland, and many others. They are still remembered for their appearance at the first Gospel Music Workshop of America (1967) in Detroit, MI as they sang “Songs of Praises.”
The Savettes have recorded several albums and CD’s but none is like the music you will hear today. Prepare yourself to be lifted to a new level of joy and hope and as you listen and feel the very presence of God. “Through God we serve”.
The Victory Choral Ensemble
The Victory Choral Ensemble is widely known as one of Philadelphia’s finest gospel aggregations. They remain as one of the shining faces in the rich history of Gospel Music. Known for their powerful and spirit-filled delivery, they have continued to sing God’s praises across our nation and throughout the world.
The group was formed by members who had previously been a part of the Victory Choral Union, under the leadership of the Father of Gospel, the late Rev. Thomas A. Dorsey. This new group became the Victory Choral Ensemble. They then united with Rev. James Cleveland’s Gospel Music Workshop of America and began to bless audiences everywhere they went.
They have ministered with many of gospel greats including the late Rev. James Cleveland, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Evang. Dorothy Norwood and many others.
God has blessed the Victory Choral Ensemble with a renewed fire and a fresh anointing. As you listen to their selections you will remember many of the old favorites, and rejoice through the new material they present to you. They sing with the unwavering belief that “Victory Shall Be Mine”.
