In the land of perpetual trunks poppin' and eternal tops droppin', it's refreshing to hear H-Town MCs take their art form to new levels. And that doesn't mean getting a major-label deal - it means coming hard or not coming at all. Recently, a few heads have been stepping up to the plate, turning folks out and winning Houston some respect. One such is Savvi, dubbed the 'New Speaker of the South', has been winning fans over on the live poetry and underground hip-hop circuit for the past few years. The name "Savvi" is an acronym for shrewd and vivid, and describes his style as his appreciation of classic or nostalgic eras from the past blended with futuristic accessible elements in the present. Savvi aims to bridge generational, style, and substance gaps in all forms of soul music using hip hop as the medium.


Savvi's desire to re-define and expand the image of artistic culture in his hometown of Houston, TX, has inspired him to coin a new spelling for the city that he was born and raised in, Hue-ston; birthing his debut release, the HUEston Chronicles fixtape (Peace Uv Mine Entertainment Group). Hueston Chronicles has received 5 stars by Black Vision Online, hailing that "Savvi represents generation next..." and "...is the artist to watch in 2004-2005". The album has also received accolades from Franklin & Gold magazine's New York City correspondent "...there is hope on the underground that is on the come up".


Savvi's universal appeal, has attracted the attention of music lovers abroad, and has garnered him numerous features on projects from Texas to Norway, and his fan base is constantly expanding. Not only is Savvi an undeniable force in the music arena, since it's inception, his Peace Uv Mine Entertainment clothing line, Peace Uv Mine Style, has also been largely popular with thirsty fashion minds in HUEston, Austin, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Beaumont, and Nashville, and the list goes on.
