Album Notes

Darker. Hornier. Sicker than ever before. Whether lamenting the inner hell of the lycanthrope, expressing the twisted dreams of the doomed death row inmate, or panting with dark lust, "Why Did God Create The Sawyer Family" is the most terrifying confession of the depraved yet from this horrific quartet of degenerates. Mixing the most sickening elements of rockabilly, punk rock, country and doo wop with an unhealthy obsession with all things psychotic, The Sawyer Family continue on their mission of ripping the innocence away from the youth and stroking the perverted psyche of the old. Meet Master Seth Sawyer, ringleader of this mad circus, a homicidal sexual predator with the voice of a seductive demon and the guitar chops of a soul-selling, crossroads dwelling pervert. Meet Judge Jarod Sawyer, the keeper of the bones, with a voodoo guitar style likened to a sledgehammer on a butcher-bound cows head and eyes that convey more evil than can be put into words. Meet Vlad Zacul Sawyer, the count, playing his upright bass in such a seductive and terrifying manner that he even makes himself scream out loud. A heartbreaker, he will make your girlfriend sweat with desire and leave her spent, gibbering in tongues. Meet The Almighty Dave Sawyer, quite possibly inhuman, devoid of emotion, pounding his drums as if his inner soul were being ripped apart by demons and the only way to cure the pain is to beat it out. This is a devastating listening experience. Be warned. The Sawyer Family have massacred audiences throughout the entire west coast with the likes of Deadbolt, The Red Elvises, Throw Rag, Dick Dale, The Supersuckers, The Rocketz, The Mutilators, The Courtesy Clerks, The Pine Box Boys,The Koffin Kats, Hillstomp and many, many more.

That's Why!

Why did God create The Sawyer Family? - I gues a few would ask the same question. But for most people there are some obvious answers: because they sound so good, because they got guts, because they put something new and fresh into the the concepts of cowpunk and psykobilly, because they made a fine album. I don't know if it satisfied The Sawyer Family's demand for a meaning of life, to have made a foreign record-colector a little bit more happy, but at least I am thankfull they did.

Killer Oregon Psycho

This is an awesome album. These guys are out of eugene, oregon. And we don't get a lot of good music coming out of oregon at times, but these guys are amazing. Very dark, pretty twisted, but if it weren't would it really be fitting of the psychobilly genre. These guys are one band who definetely keep the billy in psychobilly, you can hear the old school psycho and rockabily influences as well as a bit of doo wop thrown in to create a killer sound.
