Yes, she's barefoot whenever possible. Her music is earthy, with her smooth honeyed vocals combined with soft-finger-picking melodic acoustic guitar. Just a girl and her guitar...

notes

"an earthy voice goddess" The Nelson Express

"a barefoot acoustic diva" The Pique

Yeah, she's still got a little sand in her hair from the beaches of her native Australia, but these days this talented singer/songwriter is using her guitar and voice to warm the cooler, greener scenes of the Northern Hemisphere.

To define her music is kinda like trying to describe the taste of a mango...

She'd definitely have breakfast with Po' Girl. She'd ski with Xavier Rudd. Surf with Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, and John Butler. She'd spend a Saturday afternoon at the Buena Vista Social Club, and then maybe pub crawl with Radiohead, the Chilis, and Morcheeba.

If her time machine was still working, it might drop her in a coffee house in late 60s San Francisco, where she'd smile and jam with whomever was in the neighbourhood.

Her list of active ingredients would include; melody, rhythm, heart, voice, and a dash of lime.

But you can't really listen to a bio. So keep an eye and an ear out for Tracey in the wilds and waves of British Columbia.

Just a girl and her guitar...

  • ethereal girl at her best

Tracey has created a beautiful collection of songs here, showing her depth and maturity as an artist and touching everyone who hears her rich, angelic voice. The amazing thing is that she is relatively new to her singing, song writing career. Don't keep us breathless for too long!

  • Great music, a wonderful listen

I first saw Tracey at the Royal Hotel in Fernie BC, after a hard day of skiing, and I was hooked. Her voice is so deep and serene, listening to her belt out these tunes, instantly puts me in a calm and peaceful mood. The lyrics are profound and most people can relate to what she is signing about. I love this CD and can't wait for her to come out with another soulful journey!

  • Galaxy of Praise Isn't Enough

This record has everything you'd want from a barefoot singer-songwriter. Intelligently produced, smart melodies, original songwriting with obvious care for mixing and engineering. Even the design and artwork is fresh and innovative, and it appears to be eco-friendly.If you only buy one record this summer you need to own this CD.

  • Ethereal and grounding - a spine tingling combination....

Make a compilation of the songs from Barefoot Acoustic mixed with Jack Johnson, Xavier Rudd, Po' Girl and the other artists mentioned in Tracey's bio and you have an incredible mix. I know - I tried it. The amazing thing is Tracey Saxby's songs hold their own among these established artists - not bad for a newcomer with sand in her hair. Tracey is a emerging talent - one to keep your ears on.
