Album Notes

This CD features Stephen's "Suite For Slavomir" - tracks 2-7. In the liner notes, Stephen writes:

This music was inspired by a book entitled "The Long Walk" by Slavomir Rawicz (Lyon & Burford Press, 1956) which relates the story of how the author, a 26 year-old Polish cavalry lieutenant was captured by the Soviets in 1941 and accused of spying for the Germans. After sampling enough of Soviet prison hospitality he resolves to escape and with six others does so in the middle of the Siberian winter. It's an amazing story.

This recording has many listed as favorites by his fans, and has two selections written by Scott Joplin, and played with Stephen's meticulous artistry

It could be my favorite Stephen Bennett cd but then picking a favorite is hard to do. Not like Stephen's picking a guitar which is easy to do, or he makes it seem so anyway. Put this in your shopping cart and buy it. You are in for a treat.
