G’day, mates!

Singer/storyteller Steve Blunt and didgeridoo musician Joseph B. Carringer have teamed up for this Aussie-flavored family CD. The highlight is “Hip Hop Kangaroo,” the story of a young marsupial who achieves fame rapping and dancing across The Land Down Under. The CD features traditional singalongs (“Waltzing Matilda” and “Kookaburra”), storytelling, and fun, upbeat original tunes...with rousing choruses and superb didgeridoo-playing throughout. (The didgeridoo is an ancient musical instrument created by Australia’s indigenous aboriginal people. It consists of a hollow eucalyptus branch and produces a range of sounds when air is blown through it.) Blunt and Carringer came together to develop material for the New Hampshire State Library’s summer reading theme for 2008, “G’Day for Reading!” (a celebration of all things Australian). KANGAROOS & DIDGERIDOOS was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Brian Coombes at Rocking Horse Studio in Pittsfield, NH.
