My name is Chris "Breeze" Barczynski, and I am the singer/songwriter/guitarist of Sweet Brother Rush. Like many artists, I have dedicated my life to opening up my mind, prioritizing my expectations, expressing my beliefs, underestimating my potential, and overanalyzing my setbacks.
My career to this point has been, by most standards, very successful. I have opened for, or appeared with, Green Day, Collective Soul, Sugar Ray, Hootie and the Blowfish, Matchbox 20, The Smithereens, Fuel, Live, Edwin McCain, Jewel, Kansas, Blue Oyster Cult, Warren Zevon, Todd Rundgren and 38 Special among others. I have also appeared on NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly, CBS's Star Search, where I was a semi-finalist, and CBS's Early Show, interviewed by Hannah Storm. I am a cast member of "The Singing Bee" on NBC. My voice can be heard on the Top 10 Billboard charting Kidzbop CD's, on Applebee's and Canadian Club whiskey ads, as well as singing the new Pokemon theme song "Diamond and Pearl".
"Welcome To Your Life" has merited rave reviews, commercial and college airplay, and has sold 15,000 copies to date. "Fighting Gravity", a guitar driven, definitive rock anthem, remains #3 all time on garageband.com's pop/rock list.
All of this being said, I have yet to sign on with a major record label. This has kept me in relative obscurity and struggling to break into the larger markets. I do what I do because it is my passion and you will find that my music, lyrics, and voice convey that passion. I listen to and love all kinds of music and draw inspiration from Blues, Soul, R&B, Rock, Pop, and Country. I have great respect for artists who, like myself, live for the passion of music and are paying their dues... regardless of their style.
I have always believed in my music more than the industry to which it subscribes. I am truer in lyric than my practice of it, and I suppose that is what makes me an artist...a dreamer...a champion of what we aspire to. I sincerely hope that you enjoy what I have written. Please understand that it comes from my heart and years of traveling in vans, buses, winnebagos, and planes...to cities and small towns alike, performing for anyone who would listen. It all comes from having love, losing love, making mistakes, learning from those mistakes and an earnest desire to share what I have come to understand.
In addition to this CD, I hope you will listen to and purchase my latest CD entitled "You're What You Wish You Are..." recorded with my new band Citizens Of Contrary Knowledge.
