Scarlett Affection combines sisterly synergy with a fresh, inspiring twist. Uniquely crafted songs with sensuous harmonies – Scarlett Affection is sisters Melia and Nerida.

Scarlett Affection launched their debut full-length record ‘Our Sweet Ambush’ in Bangalow at the A & I Hall just before jetting off for their first tour of North America. Scarlett Affection were invited to showcase at the International Folk Alliance in Memphis, Tennessee and also at Canadian Music Week in Toronto. They played 3 successful shows in Toronto and they also played at The Knitting Factory in New York City.

They have won a plethora of awards - Best New Recording Talent, NCEIA Dolphin Awards; Queensland’s Face The Music Competition, and are recipients of two Australia Arts Council Grants.

Scarlett Affection have toured from Melbourne to Brisbane and beyond, with highlight performances at the Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival and Woodford Folk Festival, as well as national calibre concert style showcases at Trackdown at Fox Studios for PIX Photo Media and at the Sydney Opera House. They have also performed at the renowned Sydney venue The Vanguard.

Due to popularity, their independently released debut EP ‘Laced’ has now sold out on its second pressing! Scarlett Affection’s eagerly anticipated full-length record ‘Our Sweet Ambush’ is now available.

Both Melia and Nerida are classically trained musicians and you can hear this influence particularly in Nerida’s piano and flute style. Nerida studied Composition at Southern Cross University, Lismore. She has recorded vast amounts of material including songs, film music, jingles and ambient electronica. She has written scores for music, dance and theatre.

Melia has been in several short films as a result of studying Acting at the Victorian College of the Arts. ‘Fish’ was recently screened at the Melbourne International Film Festival and was chosen for official selection at the Berlin International Film Festival. She has toured the country with the Bell Shakespeare Company and worked extensively with the Playbox Theatre Company in Melbourne. She even made it to the big screen in a spicy ‘Doritos’ commercial! Melia’s theatrical energy engages audiences and her compelling charisma is tangibly exciting during Scarlett Affection’s live shows.
