Album Notes

Guitarist Steve Carter has performed throughout New England for more than forty years. During his twenty-five years of teaching guitar at Berklee College of Music, Steve developed his trademark pick-and-finger style playing, borrowing from jazz, blues, and classical music. He has three CDs out on his independent record label, Frogstory Records.

Steve's wife, a Reiki master, suggested that Steve compose relaxing music suitable for meditation, Reike or Yoga sessions, or just chilling out, and this led to Steve's latest CD, "Touching Light." Each piece is inspired by some aspect of light or shadow. Five of the pieces are for solo guitar, which has long been Steve's forte; for the other four pieces, Steve's warm guitar sound blends with strings, flute, harp, celeste, and light percussion.
