Album Notes

SCAT plays jazz!
SCAT is a 4 piece jazz combo, specialising in original gospel music and jazz standards. This unrivalled Brisbane-based act has picked up an American Gospel Music Award and when you hear them jam you’ll know why. SCAT brings together Queensland’s best musical talent with Jeremy O’Connor on double bass, Trent Bryson-Dean on drums, Chris Poulsen on keys and Craig Burnett on vocals. Their energy, humour, crowd interaction and musical expertise has earned them a reputation as a great feature act in many settings. Their musical approach is fresh and entertaining, capturing the essence of artists like Harry Connick Jr, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis and Michael Buble. Wherever & whenever they play they leave an absolutely unforgettable impression on audiences. Latest Release - Living Room (LP)
With eight brand new original tunes, re-worked Scat favourites and jazz standards SCAT’s latest album "Living Room" hit the shelves in April this year. The boys are very happy with the new album, and the great response they are receiving. Capturing the energy and fun of a typical Scat show, the up-beat swingin' tunes keep the feet tapping, then as a smooth contrast, the quieter contemplative ballads are very "chilled". With the new album, there has been a deliberate effort to make our music more "radio friendly" without compromising the signature Scat sound. The three tracks they suggest for radio play are Follow, Miss Jones and Proverbs.

In July 2003 they released their 3rd unmissable album “Live at the Healer”. This award winning 15 track CD features spiritual originals, jazz standards and covers of Amazing Grace and So Blessed. “Live at the Healer” captures the atmosphere of a live jazz and blues club and features great guest sax and guitar soloists.
