Three years after his debut full-length "Meet My Maker" arrived, New York City-based rapper and comedian Schaffer the Darklord (STD) returns with the release of his sophomore effort, "Mark of the Beast." Nearly two years (and a half-dozen engineers) in the making, "Mark of the Beast" contains some of STD's most beloved and tour-honed material. Classics like "Cat People" and "Night of the Living Christ" make re-vamped appearances, and new numbers like "Dive Down" and "The Way You Talk" are found for the first time anywhere. Listeners will note guest appearances from Coolzey in "Tour Song" and LadyLovely in "Rich Man," and one track from "Meet My Maker" receives a fresh set of loops from longtime STD collaborator Dave Famous in the updated "Revenge of Attack of the Clonef*cker."
