Superb

Another amazing album by this superb singer. Danny has the ability to write songs that mean something to us all and make us look at ourselves and others a little more compassionately (mostly). Not a weak track on the album, just simply full of great songs. Thanks Danny.

This is absolutely one of the best CDs I own. I don't know how Danny channels such poignant, fervent poetry . . . but he does.

After hearing Danny in concert in Bethel this summer, I felt impelled to purchase his music for myself. This CD is incredible with haunting lyrics and music that just won't let me loose and leaves me longing for more.

Awesome

How does one describe Danny Schmidt's music? It's a combination of folk and musical. The lyrics are folk but the musical style is almost classical, with a couple of Jazz and lite Rock style thrown in. His voice has been described as "frail, yet strong". Some would disagree. Perhaps it's because he's soulful, using every last breath in his singing, giving it that "frail" sound. It has a haunting, hypnotic effect about it on a lot of his songs. It snags you, and won't let you go. He offers three full-length downloadable tracks from each of his albums at his website: www.dannyschmidt.com, plus 2 videos. You'll need QuickTime to view the videos and it takes awhile the first time you download it, so be patient. I recommend watching "Stained Glass", because you don't get to hear much of his singing on the other one. Unfortunately, "Stained Glass" doesn't contain the full song, but there is certainly enough of it to enjoy. All he asks in return to downloading the free songs, is to purchase the albums if you like what you hear and then share it with your friends.
My favorite song on this CD is the powerful and moving tribute he wrote about 9/11: "It's Already Done". It's so powerful that it's hard to describe in a few words and the song is too long to include here. So read and hear the song on his website. You won't be disappointed.
