Born in Detroit, Michelle grew up listening to the great music that was all over the Detroit area. She started playing clubs in Detroit and Ann Arbor in the 70's. Michelle's roots are in gospel, folk, good old Detroit rock, country, R & B and Motown. Michelle has been inspired by women like Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell, Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Annie Lennox, Stevie Nicks & Bonnie Raitt.
