Album Notes

Scholars and Fellows plays a catchy and heartfelt sort of indie-rock that often drips with some sort of 80's nostalgia. Looming within it is a taste of something raw that is trying to be real. It was a homegrown experiment - a student's project to rearticulate emotion into something more tangible. He pieced together a chandelier and pushed it into a sound. But it wasn't good enough. It kinda just sat there. So he attached that sound to a disco ball motor and made it spin, and then... well then he was happy - so he planned a party. It was a costume party. Girls had to wear black leggings and sweater skirts to get in - well no real dress code just suggested attire. The whole place was so very lessee fair. He held the party in a grand library, and served Bavarian beer strait from the cask, and when the room was full he raised his hand and toasted them all... and he said. "May the past be the worst of your future, and may the worse of your future be fixed by the sutures of your love's lost and found kiss." And down came the sound from the spinning chandeliers and the lyrics ran around and they burned up in memory's tears. Reach for her in your mind in the Beep beep of electronic sleep. I makes us feel neat. Repeat. Repeat. Sheep Sheep Sheep. She felt a sense of vulnerability, but she was dancing to make herself feel it more. To kinda like fight against her self. It was as if part her mind stood at the edge of pool. It wanted to swim but it couldn't. It just watched. Well the other part of her was tired of waiting. It got up and pushed her in into the deep end and it said... "deal with it! You will swim you bitch. Pretend the whole is watching. Pretend they are all watching. They are all staring and judgeing. But for once, for once, be so proud that you dont fucking care!" And she looked at herself in the mirror and she saw herself swiming. And then she smiled to that little rebel inside of her and she kept on dancing.
