Science Vs Nature.
It's a concept that is bigger than any of us ever realized.
A principal based on everything.
A foundation built from Zeros, Ones, and form fit DNA.
Balance is a fundamental truth within SVN. Like Yin and Yang, Christian Aydt and Kiley Thompson strive to create soundscapes which both drive and calm. Rhythms and melodies continuously speak to one another and ultimately create environments ranging from progressive vocal house and trance, to downtempo studies of electro-chemistry.
Science Vs Nature does not clash, argue, or otherwise disagree during development of our material. There is, in fact, no versus. Rather, SVN in it's entirety is Science Verses Nature. As there are Verses and Choruses, founding members Christian and Kiley set out to find our vocal angel.
Enter Analia Lyon.
There aren't so many words one can use to describe Ms. Lyon short of "enrapturing" and "heaven-sent". Her voice is pristine as crystal, soulful as gospel, and able to cut like a ginsu knife whenever there be a need. A true visionary; she is a fountain of melodies often spouting harmonies we could never envision on our own. Without even realizing her innate gift, she effortlessly brings a whole new level to SVN. The first track she ever sang with us was "Calling My Angel". I believe singing this on my own has paid off. This Angel responded with exactly the voice I had been searching for over the better part of 3 years.
Kiley Thompson (a.k.a DJ Usul) has spent ten years behind the 1's and 2's. With venues under his belt like Twilo and Limelight, he has dropped beats to light dance floors on fire in 48 of the 50 United States. As I learned early on, one can never be sure which state Mr. Thompson is paying a visit to when you speak with him. Typically, it is a state closer to Zen than any other. Kiley's sense of rhythm and groove is unmatched. Taking a composite sample of all of the tracks he's ever dropped on his Technics, he has built new tracks bigger, stronger, and better than ever before. Ironic as it may seem, "Nature" seems to have a bionic cerebrum.
From an early age, Christian Aydt found a true calling in electronica. Due to the ever important "cool older sister", he was turned on to Depeche Mode some 17 years ago. Listening and learning , he acquired his first synthesizer at the age of 14. Some 15 years later, "Asylum" has become the lab he built to be the ultimate tool for his self expression. A work ethic bordering on obsessive has allowed Christian to lead the foundation of SVN in a direction he always dreamed. Regular 15 hour studio sessions and a strong foundation in musicology have allowed him to repeatedly push envelopes within the work that is the basis for SVN.
Continuously working to better ourselves, Science Vs Nature acts as a band featuring live performances. It is safe to say that our objective is to make live vocal electronica something that is increasingly accepted and respected. A spectacle of lights, buttons, and blinding talent, Science Verses Nature will not be easily forgotten.

The first thing i notice is the great production
values - especially in headphones where I can fully
hear all the stereo spread. I like what you have
chosen to keep in the middle and what to spread. Some
folks spread way too much but you don't. I like her
voice a lot and I think it seperates you from just
another group that would make similar soundscapes.
The very very beginning of 7 reminds
me of Flash Gordon by Queen - and that is awesome.
It is a really good song and The fact that track 7 is so
good means the whole album is good. And then 9 might
be even better come to think of it. I love the chorus
section with the background vocals. I think this is
my favorite song. 10 is a strong finish too-even the end of the song is good and it is good to leave a lasting impression. (So many people put weak
songs at the end but I prefer to end strong).
I like the female voice. Not only is she good - I think she sets you
apart from other groups that are instrumental - or
have a string of guest vocalists.
