Album Notes

Notes from Scotch:

When I was 11 years old, I prayed that when I grew up I would like to make 1 million people smile. I trust I am on my way.

I am overjoyed to finally have a disc that showcases some of my favorite songs and some new ones as well. Listening to my mother sing "The Look of Love' when I was very young is one of my favorite childhood memories. She inspired me. I wanted to do that memory justice.
It was particularly thrilling to sing along with these amazing musicians and capture each live performance that makes up STANDARD SCOTCH.
Music has touched me in ways I could never explain. I have been moved by the sound of your sounds. For you, in return, I would do the same .
I am honored to be a part of your music collection.

Bio
Scotch is the sixth of seven children born into a military family (air force) in Limestone, Maine. His father, Frederick McCollum, sang lead with the Blue Notes and his grandfather John McCollum aka "Johnny Baker" was a jazz guitarist and piano player who had his own radio show in Cleveland for many years.

Award winning songwriters Tim Rice, Charles Fox (Killing Me Softly, I've Got A Name), Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, The Civil War) and the writing team of Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil (On Broadway, Through the Fire, Somewhere Out There) are just some of the industry's best that Scotch has had the pleasure of working for. Scotch has performed with artists such as Carl Anderson, Syreeta Wright, Larry Gatlin, Dennis DeYoung and Bebe Winans, to name a few. In addition to his singing career, the busy artist has managed to build quite the acting resume. Recently completing the New Regency film Firehouse Dog, due in theaters in the fall of 2006. (For more details go to www.imdb.com)

After almost two and a half decades of touring the United States and Canada the time has come for this long overdue solo venture.

STANDARD SCOTCH marks the first project thats all Scotch.

His next album, ORIGINAL SCOTCH, is in the early stages of production.

Scotch's vocals soothe, charm and transport you to the magical places he sings about. His voice displays both strength and tender vulnerability and the combination is completely irresistible. WONDERFUL--More please!

What a voice!
author: Erik Walter
With such a beautiful voice, he should be wearing those angel wings; he sings just like one. And he ain't hard on the eyes either. The songs are unusual choices, which makes the whole CD even more interesting.

The moment Scotch begins his album every care I had in the world became less a burden. This album lifted me into the wonderful embrace of his enormously talented voice and carried me to a soft place I will want to return to time and time again. I found myself smiling and crying in joy for the world's chance to finally hear what I have heard these many years being blessed so much to call Scotch my very best friend. Way to go Scotch, the album is simply beautiful and I am bursting with pride for you. I will be sure to bless others by letting them know you have such an inspiring and wonderful album out there for all the world to hear. Excellent!!
