Album Notes

Scotch Mist is a musical duo consisting of Lynne Barnes on Celtic harp and Roger Dale on the recorder. The group was started by Roger who was curious about the blend between the harp and recorder. The blend worked very well, according to listeners.

Lynne and Roger began performing together three years ago. Since their partnership started, they have performed in Maryland, West Virginia and Northern Virginia at a variety of weddings, Celtic gatherings, concerts and other occasions. At their first concert in Alexandria, VA, patrons were disappointed that there was no CD available of their music. This CD is a result of their requests.

They have also produced a compact disk of traditional Irish music called "Scotch Mist is Essentially Irish."

Lynne is a graduate of Mansfield University, Mansfield, PA. She has taught music and served as organist and choir director in New England, the mid-Atlantic region and Washington State. In addition to her public performances, she plays and teaches Celtic harp, piano, guitar and Appalachian dulcimer.

Roger has been involved with music since high school in Minneapolis, MN. He began playing recorder while at the University of Minnesota and plays the full family of instruments. He has taught and performed in California and throughout the mid-Atlantic area. Locally, he founded and directed the Consort Antigua, a quintet of medieval and renaissance instrumentalists.
