Album Notes

At the age of 8 ½, Scott Cornelius picked up his first fiddle and hasn’t put it down since. He has performed at numerous venues across the Canadian prairies, and enjoys many genres of fiddle music. His roots are in Metis and Old Tyme, however. Having earned himself four Manitoba Provincial Championship titles and three consecutive People’s Choice Awards, as well as two provincial volunteer awards, Scott regularly takes to the stage. He has had opportunity to share the stage with many well-known fiddlers and bands and is looking forward to having a band of his own someday.

REWIND, recorded when Scott was 13, is a mix of genres of fiddle tunes - the ones most requested at his performances. Some are easy-listening, to help you sit back and "rewind" and "unwind" at the same time, and others will set your toes a tappin'. Scott performs with many bands at old-tyme dances, so most of the tunes are dance tunes.

Someday, Scott hopes to make a career out of his music. In the meantime, he continues to enjoy performing at festivals, jamborees, dances, church, fundraisers, seniors residences and personal care homes, and occasional fiddle competitions in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. He enjoys watching people go back in time as he fiddles his tunes. Fiddling is truly a cultural experience and Scott has included tunes from many cultures in his latest CD, REWIND, for you to enjoy!
